Whitehawk (H) - 10th January 2023

Margate welcome Isthmian South-East side Whitehawk to Hartsdown Park in the Velocity Trophy on Tuesday evening, as they aim to reach the last four of the competition for a second consecutive season.

The Blues have overcome Chichester and Folkestone Invicta to reach the last eight, whilst Tuesday nights visitors have beaten Ashford United, Horsham and Hastings United to reach this stage.

The Blues head into the game with no win since November, ironically their previous round win against Folkestone at Hartsdown Park. It has been a difficult few weeks for the Blues, however they come into this game with the momentum of a final minute equaliser against Brightlingsea Regent on Saturday.

Whitehawk visit Hartsdown Park sitting 4th in the Isthmian South-East league standings, and having already knocked out two Isthmian Premier Division sides from the competition.

Margate will be able to welcome back Sam Blackman into the midfield after he served a two game ban for his sending off against Cray Wanderers on Boxing Day. Doubts remain over Harry Hudson (ankle), and David Smith (calf). Joint Managers Ben Greenhalgh and Reece Prestedge still remain hopeful of bringing in some additional players ahead of the fixture.

This will be the first time these two sides have met since 2018 which saw Whitehawk claim a 3-1 win at Hartsdown Park in December 2018. The Blues will need a change of fortune as they have only beaten Whitehawk once at home which happened in February 2013 when they won 2-1.

The winners of the tie will reach the last four of the competition.

Tickets for this game have been reduced to half price for all supporters. A polite notice that season tickets or youth passes are not valid for this game and all supporters should purchase a ticket.

Kick-off at Hartsdown Park is 7:45pm but as always if you can’t make the game then you can stay up to date via our Twitter feed @margate_fc from 7:15pm.
