Two In, Two Out at HDP
Margate Football Club is delighted to announce the double signing of Cameron Brodie and Freddy Barton.
Midfielder Brodie joins the ‘Gate on loan from National League South side Dartford FC for one month. The defensive sitting Midfielder was handed a contract extension by new Darts Manager Alan Dowson in the summer, after being the latest successful product of the Dartford Academy.
Secondly, the Blues are pleased to announce the signing of versatile full-back Freddy Barton from Cray Wanderers. The full-back was a constant in the Wanderers side last season, however joins the Blues ahead of Friday night’s clash with Horsham at Hartsdown Park.
The Club can also confirm the departure of Midfielder Adam Topley and striker Emmanuel Oluwesemo who leave Hartsdown Park. A change of job circumstances meant Topley was struggling to travel to Hartsdown Park.
The Club would like to thank both for their contributions at Hartsdown Park.
On his new signings, Manager Andy Drury admits he is looking for something different.
“Both Cameron and Freddy can offer us something different. Cameron spent last season at Cray Wanderers and won their supporters player of the year award. He works so hard and will rattle around the middle and provide additional cover in front of the defence”
“I worked with Freddie at Cray last season and he is a brilliant full-back that is versatile. Signing Freddy may allow us to change the way we play and the positions of other players to get more from them. I am pleased we could add both of these to the squad before the Horsham game.”.
