As well as his playing role, Roberts will take up a coaching role alongside Reece Prestedge and Ben Greenhalgh.
Roberts, 29 joined the Blues in January and was one of Prestedge’s first signings after being handed the role on an interim basis.
Roberts featured 15 times for the ‘Gate after joining and scored two goals in that period.
Prestedge says that Roberts will add “something different” to the squad this season.
“Robbo is a great character to have in the changing room and when he plays. His desire to win is incredible and he will give us something else out on the pitch.”
“Robbo is a natural leader and he wants to look at developing his coaching career so we are pleased that we could offer him the chance to develop those skills as well as offer us something up top as well.”
It is just over five weeks until the Blues play their first pre-season fixture when they welcome Deal Town to Hartsdown Park on Saturday 8th July 2023 as part of a Men’s and Women’s double header.
