Ramaden Settling In To Life At The Blues

A birthday goal over local rivals added to a celebratory weekend for Margate’s Adem Ramadan.

The pacey winger netted during The Gate’s trip to Ramsgate and revealed how much The Thanet Cup victory meant to him and his team-mates.

Ramadan said, “It was a great feeling, we all enjoyed the win very much as it was one of our toughest tests of pre-season. The fact we won and got to enjoy the victory with a bit of silverware for the fans made it all the better.”

“It’s always good to win a derby, the Gaffer told us about how important the game was to the fans and to go out there and win it for them.”

Margate have enjoyed a positive pre-season so far but Ramaden revealed the focus is on far more than results as the squad prepare for the start of the BetVictor Isthmian League campaign.

“Confidence around the dressing room is high but we are still keeping level-headed as we all know results in pre-season don’t mean nothing.”

“Pre-season has been good, the team has been working hard and we have built some good relationships to make sure there is a great atmosphere. The hard work has been enjoyable and we are all raring to go and start the season.”

Reflecting on his own preparations, Ramaden was delighted to appear on the scoresheet and be involved in setting up several of Margate’s goals over the past few weeks.

“It was a great feeling to score and help win the game for the team and fans. It’s still only pre-season but we wanted to give the fans something to cheer about and now they can look forward to the season too.”

As the countdown ticks to Margate’s season-opener at Hartsdown Park, Ramaden and his team-mates will be doing everything they can for a starting place in Jay Saunders’ team.

“We have one more friendly left and now we’re all fighting to get a starting shirt for the first game of the season.”

“The competition is very good, we are all getting minutes and getting the last bit of rust out all ready for the league.”

Ramaden added, “I can’t wait and I know all the boys feel the same. It’s been a long pre-season, we’ve all settled in well as a new squad and we are all desperate to do well and get the fans cheering behind us.”
