INTERVIEW / Player Update From Management Team
Player Update From Management Team
Margate Manager Reece Prestedge says Blues fans will be “excited” about the new season with several players set to be announced over the upcoming weeks.
Prestedge has already added goalkeeper Damian Niemczycki from Braintree Town, Tyrone Sterling from Dover Athletic and Fyn Rutherford from Tonbridge Angels to the squad, as well as confirming that Harrison Hatfull, Sam Blackman, Harry Hudson and Phil Roberts were all staying at Hartsdown Park for the 2023/24 season.
Despite a quiet period of player announcements, Prestedge says fans should be excited ahead of some further arrivals in the next ten days.
“It is always difficult to have your squad all signed and sealed before June as players like to take their time and see what offers are out there.”
“Ben and I have been working tirelessly over the past month to get some players over the line and we are really excited, and we believe the fans will be as we look to announce some over the next ten days.”
Assistant Manager Ben Greenhalgh added that patience is key throughout the summer as so many players are available at any one time.
“There are so many players available in pre-season so it’s like a game of chess where you have to hold your nerve before you make the next move. Prez and I have worked hard to get the right players in and we are excited to get them announced so the excitement for the new season can be ramped up.”
We can confirm that defenders Freddy Barton and Sinn’Kaye Christie have departed Hartsdown Park. We wish them well for their future and thank them for their efforts whilst with us.
