Jinadu: "A Real Buzz About The Final"

Interview by Reece Hibbird

Article written by Josh Cole

Margate shot stopper Daniel Jinadu says he is “really excited” for the final against Chatham Town and said the win against Ramsgate “felt so good that we could do it for the fans”.

“I’m really excited, to go on and win that game against Ramsgate in front of so many fans was amazing, and we were all absolutely buzzing, especially with the season we’ve had it felt so good that we could get that win for the fans and for us as a team”.

Jinadu is relishing the opportunity to play at Priestfield in “one of the biggest games in Kent” and says it feels like “such a blessing for me”.

“Just the fact that we are able to play at a big stadium, a local ground, in one of the biggest games in Kent is really motivating and it feels like such a blessing for me”.

Jinadu says being a goalkeeper comes with its challenges and added pressure, but he wouldn’t want to be doing anything else and said that “it’s not a position that anyone can play, you have to either be cool or crazy”.

“As a goalkeeper it’s a special position where I don’t feel like anyone can just go in goal, its something that you have to either be cool to or crazy to do, because being that last line of defence we are misunderstood and hated, we’re blamed for most things, we have no backup, so it can be a lonely position sometimes and there is obviously pressure but in my personal opinion I love it and I get satisfaction from dealing with that pressure and making that big stop in crucial moments”.

The Margate ‘keeper has been a great addition in goal since he joined the ‘Gate in October and says that “it’s crucial we win this for the fans and go one step further than last year”.

“The season has obviously not been how we wanted it to pan out but to be in a cup final is still an achievement and I think it’s crucial that we get this win for the fans and go one step further than last year because they deserve this”.
