We finally return to league action after our host of cup fixtures as we travel down to Lancing for matchday#6!

Last time out we fell to a 2-0 away defeat to Horsham, stopping our FA Cup journey at the third qualifying round stage.

OPPONENTS SEASON SO FAR:

After losing their main goal scorer in Lukas Franzen-Jones to The ‘Gate, Lancing came into this season with a big hole to fill and they have struggled so far, down in 19th in the table with four points from seven games, and only one win in all competitions. Their first game away to newly-promoted Deal Town ended in a 3-1 loss. They also lost their first game in the FA Cup to Athletic Newsham. The bad start to the season continued with four more losses back-to-back against Southall in the FA Trophy preliminary round (0-1), a league loss to Erith Town (0-1), another loss to Southall (0-4) in the replay of the game earlier (the FA ordered a replay after Southall played two ineligible players) and a 0-1 loss to Burgess Hill back in the league. On the 21st of September against Phoenix Sports, Lancing finally picked up a win, beating them 2-0 at home. However, the good form didn’t last long as next game they were beaten by Broadbridge Heath away from home 1-0. Their last result before this fixture with Margate was a 2-2 draw away at Littlehampton.
