INTERVIEW / Ojemen: "Time To Push On"
Ojemen: "Time To Push On"
Margate defender Peter Ojemen admits there is a “positive“ feeling in the changing room after the Blues extended their unbeaten run to four games on Saturday after a hard fought 0-0 draw away at Hastings United.
Ojemen was once again impressive in thwarting any Hastings attack alongside Harry Hudson and as part of a back three in the second half after the introduction of new signing Sinn’Kaye Christie at half-time.
“It was good, we worked hard as a team today. We have gone back to basics, after conceding lots of goals in previous games, we are working all together, and the communication is strong, and we push on as a unit”.
Ojemen admits that it was hard when the Blues were conceding plenty of goals at the turn of the year, however says that the last four games have shown real “progress” and highlights the strength the team have.
“When we were letting those goals in it was difficult because we felt that we were playing ok but things were just going against us. I think the last four games have shown that we have gone back to basics and it is showing that we have a good strength about us, and that will be important over the final run of games.”
The ‘Gate now have a clear week before welcoming Bishop’s Stortford to Hartsdown Park on Saturday and Ojemen is aware of the challenges that they will offer, however admits that the ‘Gate can use their 2-2 draw away to Stortford as motivation.
“It is a really tough game and we know we will have to be at our very best to get something from the game. We played really well at theirs and come away with a very good point so we know that we can match them and we will aim to do that on Saturday.”
