Hashtag United (A) - 9th March 2024

By Josh Cole

A trip to the Len Salmon Stadium awaits Margate as we take on Hashtag United for matchday #33 of the league season!

Last time out, we suffered a 3-1 home defeat to Horsham. Read the full match report from that game by clicking here.

OPPONENTS SEASON SO FAR:

After being newly promoted to this division as league winners the campaign before, the Tags carried on their momentum from the 22/23 season with three draws and one win from their first four games. A heavy defeat away to Hornchurch followed the good start, but they didn’t drop their heads, and they returned to good form in their next six games, drawing four which included the 1-1 result at Hartsdown Park in the return fixture and winning twice. They tasted defeat back-to-back to Enfield Town and Hastings, but returned to winning ways by picking up two brilliant wins away to Horsham and against rivals Billericay. A draw away to relegation threatened Cheshunt would seem like a bad result for Hashtag, but the four consecutive wins that followed soon turned the atmosphere positive as they sat pretty in the top 10. A bad run of form hit Hashtag. They went seven games without a win in the month of January, which was six losses including a heavy 5-0 away defeat to Potters Bar and one draw at home against Enfield Town. They stopped their rut by winning away at title challengers Chatham Town but returned to losing at home to high-flying Horsham. Three draws came before their 4-2 away win against Essex rivals Billericay in their last match in the league.
