Celebrate Non-League Day At Margate

This Saturday is no normal Saturday. It is Non-League Day!

Non-League Day was set up in 2010 to provide a platform for clubs to promote the importance of affordable, volunteer-led community football, while giving fans across the country the chance to show support for their local non-league side.

This season, Non-League Day falls on Saturday 13 October, the date Margate host Enfield Town at Hartsdown Park.

To encourage new faces from across Margate and beyond to visit their local Non-League club, The Gate are offering visitors a “Pay What You Like” entrance fee. If this wasn’t reason enough to pop by, 50% of ticket revenue will be donated to Anthony Nolan, a charity set-up some 40 years ago locally in Manston.

Maybe you’ve visited Margate FC in the past, or are considering coming down for the first time this Saturday. We really hope you decide to celebrate Non-League Day, with us.

Ahead of match day this weekend, here’s some information we thought you may find useful….

Opposition

The Gate welcome Enfield Town to Hartsdown Park at 3pm this Saturday. It’s a Bostik League clash many will be keeping an eye on, as both teams are considered strong contenders for success.

Entry

The ground opens at 13:30 with entry permitted through turnstiles to the side of the ground. You can pay as little or as much as you’d like to watch the game, safe in the knowledge that your money will be helping your local non-league club, whilst raising money for blood cancer charity, Anthony Nolan.

Every penny we raise this weekend will help undertake lifesaving research, recruit more donors and provide vital support to patients and their families.

Food and Drink

Food and drink is available from the moment we open at 13:30 until after the game where our Clubhouse with a fully licensed bar remains open too.

To celebrate Non-League Day, between 13.30-14.30 and 17.00-18.00, you can enjoy some amazing drink offers

• £3.00 a pint

• Sourz and sambuca 3 for £5

• £3.00 per single serve of wine

• Jäger 4 for £10

One of the major perks of Non-League football (compared to the Football League, that is) is you can enjoy a pint pitch side; the traditional footie experience on a Saturday afternoon!

Anthony Nolan

Margate FC decided to dedicate non-league day to Anthony Nolan to support our Chairman, Terry Painter. Earlier in the year, Terry’s grandson undertook an urgent bone marrow transplant and is receiving expert care and treatment.

It is hoped supporters, residents and members of the wider Margate community will get behind this charitable initiative, using the power of football – and Non-League Day - to have a positive impact whilst enjoying a great game of football.

Besides raising valuable funds via ticket entry, first team players will be warming up in Anthony Nolan shirts which will be signed and gifted to supporters via a match-day raffle, with all proceeds going to the charity.

Families

Whilst we cater for those looking for a great day out, families are a big part of match days. A warm, friendly atmosphere for any supporter, families are most welcome to Hartsdown. At half-time we run a Penalty Shoot Out competition, open to any Under 16s to take part. It’s free and a wonderful opportunity to grace the pitch! Head over to our Club Shop to sign your little one up!

Seating

The ground has both seated and standing options. There are no reserved seats, so it is entirely up to you where you’d like to watch the action from. We do have accessible seating too, so if any visitors with disabilities require support, please contact us and we will ensure you’re provided with the access you need.

Parking

The club has free parking in our club car park besides the ground.

Travel

The ground is approximately 0.7 miles (1 km) from Margate railway station, which lies on SouthEastern's Chatham Main Line from London Victoria to Ramsgate and is also the northern terminus of the Kent Coast Line to Dover Priory.
