Margate travel to Essex with still just one injury doubt as Michael Abnett continues to recover from a calf injury otherwise manager Jay Saunders would have been pleased to have come through Saturday's opening day draw with Brightlingsea Regent unscathed.
Saunders himself will return to the sidelines after serving a one-match suspension having admitted to a misconduct charge from the 2018/19 season.
Hornchurch already have a growing injury list that Manager Mark Stimson is having to deal with as Remi Sutton, Arthur Lee and Nathan Cooper are all still struggling to be fit in time to face the ‘Gate. One familiar face that Margate fans are likely to see in action is former Midfielder Matt Johnson who joined the Urchins thi summer from Enfield Town.
Margate travel to the Hornchurch Stadium having recorded a 2-1 win last season. Goals from Kadell Daniel and Tobi Sho-Silva earned the Blues a vital 2-1 win in their bid to stave off relegation from the Isthmian Premier League. Recent visits to the Hornchurch Stadium have wielded mixed results for the ‘Gate with a 3-2 defeat in December 2013, Terry Brown’s first game in charge, although they did avenge that defeat in September 2014 when a rare Margate goal from Jason Prior sent Margate on their way to a 2-0 win.
