Club Adds Three To Board of Directors
Margate Football Club is delighted to announce three additions to the Board of Directors.
Firstly, current Margate Youth Chairman Dan Winsbury has joined the Board. Dan has been involved with the Youth section for the past four years, and has helped oversee the club grow, with now all mini soccer football played at Hartsdown Park, and nearly 60% of all training sessions now taking place at the club’s home ground.
Dan will be continuing his role as Chairman of the Youth section whilst serving as a Director for Margate FC.
“I am delighted to be able to play a part in helping the club move forward as one. I look forward to the upcoming season, which will hopefully be a successful one with Andy (Drury) and the first team and all of the Youth section”.
Secondly, joining the Board as a Non-Executive Director is Sarah Higgs. Sarah has also been integral in helping build the Youth section to its current size, having been a committee member over the past two and a half years. Sarah will be tasked with overseeing Commercial activities at the club. Sarah currently works as Project Support for London Array Windfarm. Sarah will also continue the fantastic work she does with the Youth section moving forward.
Finally, also joining as a Non-Executive Director is Ryan Day. Ryan will oversee internal communications and assist alongside our Media team to ensure the club continues to improve on its recent communications both internally and externally. Ryan will combine this role alongside his current role as an Ambassador for the Kent Association for the Blind.
Chairman Ricky Owen said “I am delighted that all three will be joining the Board in both executive and non-executive roles”.
"I have worked closely with Dan and Sarah since my time as Chairman and feel that this would be an excellent addition to the Board, as well as Ryan whose passion and knowledge of football at this level in second to none.
“Dan, Sarah and Ryan will be known to supporters, and their passion and desire to help drive the club on is a boost to us a club”.
