An Update From The Chairman
An update from the Chairman.
I can confirm, regrettably, that Chris Chambers has recently resigned from the board. In his professional role, managing our ground redevelopment, at the post planning stage, he has identified a potential conflict of interest. This exists between the independence of managing the project and his role advising the board. This is a matter of ethics, that as a chartered professional, Chris must manage correctly. This, combined with the time pressures of other business interests, has led to this decision. I would like to thank Chris for all his hard work and support, he has been instrumental in taking the ground redevelopment to the next stage. Chris will continue to help us move forwards, albeit from a different position.
Some news for supporters regarding the playing squad - Ryan Palmer is going to get some game time at Sevenoaks. Ryan wants more minutes under his belt in the coming weeks, so is heading there with Jay’s blessing. Also, supporters may have seen this week that George Wilkinson has signed for Dover’s senior team. Everyone at MFC wishes George all the best for the rest of the season.
Forward Ken Feyi has resumed training and is making good progress. Supporters will remember an impressive 60 minutes from Feyi against Cray Valley PM, before the he picked up an injury which has kept him side-lined since. Hopefully, Feyi will be available for selection again later this month.
Martial Godo has attracted a lot of interested of late, not surprising as he has been outstanding for us. A Premier League club and two Championship clubs have been following Martial’s progress, with offers of trials now on the table. It’s a fantastic opportunity for Martial, credit to his hard work and all the coaches that helped him along the way.
There’s plenty to be positive about at the minute, we have won four of our last five games and are still in touching distance of the playoffs. The next month will be key in our push for one of those places. We head into the weekend looking forward to the encounter with Hornchurch, it will be a tough test against a team also in good form. I hope you will be joining us for the game and get behind Jay and the boys.
Thank you for your ongoing support
