CLUB NEWS / HDP To Host Charity Match To Raise Awareness of Baby Loss
In baby loss awareness week, Hartsdown Park will play host to the Thanet Sands v Kent Sands charity match, with a candle lit vigil being held before the game.
Thanet Sands was set up by Ramsgate dad Ryan Stokes who sadly lost his daughter Willow after birth. Recognising that there was limited, if any support out there for grieving fathers, Ryan founded the Thanet branch of Sands United. Sands Charity (Stillbirth and Neonatal Death Charity) work towards supporting parents who have lost a child before, during, or after birth.
Entry is FREE on Sunday evening with the game at 7:30pm with a balloon release ahead of kick-off in memory of the babies lost in the UK, and in particular here in Thanet.
The candle light vigil will take place at 7pm. Supporters wishing to find out more about the charity, or donate should contact the charity on Sands charity helpline – 0808 164 3332 or helpline@sands.org.uk
