Merstham (H) - 15th February

Margate welcome Merstham to Hartsdown Park tonight in the Isthmian Premier Division looking to build upon their unbeaten start to February.

Two wins and two draws so far this month have been another positive step forward for the ‘Gate, combined with three back to back clean sheets as well, however, two 0-0 draws in a row away from home mean they will be eager to claim three points this evening.

Like Margate in the past two games, Merstham have struggled to score goals themselves with only one goal in their last six games, in which time they have only won once. The visitors are likely to include their new loan signing Jonathon Page who joined the club this week from Championship side Fulham.

This will be the two clubs third meeting this season and it is one win apiece so far. The Blues were humbled 4-1 by tonight’s opposition in the 3rd Qualifying Round of the Emirates FA Cup, however the ‘Gate did get their revenge a month later with a 3-1 win thanks to a double from Vance Bola and one from Sam Blackman.

Due to COVID, this will be Merstham’s first trip to Hartsdown Park since October 2019 when Margate ran out 2-1 winners on a cold Tuesday night.

As it is the Half-Term break we hope to see as many kids in attendance tonight and we are hosting our half-time penalty shoot-out for eight children, for their chance to win a signed Matchday Magazine. Please note sign up is limited to eight children only under the age of 16. To register please head to our club shop.

All supporters should also note that over the weekend, MFC learned of the passing of life-long Margate fan Keith Lewis. We will remember Keith tonight by holding a minute’s applause before kick-off.

As always if you can’t be with us tonight for the 7:45pm kick off then you can stay right up to date at the clubs official Twitter feed @margate_fc.
