The ‘Gate will continue their 2022/23 pre-season campaign with the visit of Dover Athletic to Hartsdown Park on Saturday.

Margate made it two wins from two so far on Tuesday evening with a 3-1 win over Faversham Town, with the goals coming from Trialist #18, Trialist #9, and Emmanuel Oluwasemo.

The last time the Blues welcomed Dover Athletic to Hartsdown Park was in the pre-season campaign of 2020 where the Whites came out victorious in a 3-2 score-line.

Dover will compete the 2022/23 season in the Vanarama National League South having been relegated last season from the National League after a tough year which included a 12 point deduction.

Dover have played two pre-season friendlies to date, with an impressive 2-0 win against Gillingham, however they were defeated by Deal Town 1-0 at the Charles Ground on Tuesday evening.

The Whites are currently managed by Andy Hessenthaler who played most of his senior career at Gillingham and Watford. His managerial spells include Gillingham, Leyton Orient, Eastleigh and Dover, where he has been since 2018.

The Whites have made twelve signings so far this pre-season, including former ‘Gate Defender Jake Goodman, Jordan Higgs, Alfie Paxman, Alfie Pavey, Stuart Nelson, Tyrone Sterling, Luke Wanadio, Arjanit Krasniqi, Reece Grant, Mitch Brundle (Player and Assistant), Lee Martin, and Myles Judd.

The game is a 1pm kick-off with the turnstiles opening at Hartsdown Park at 11:30am.

Supporters should note that this ticket also covers the Margate U18’s v Dover U18’s game which will be played after.
