CLUB NEWS / U23's Lose Season Opener
The ‘Gate settled early and could have gone ahead when Woody Pitman found himself through one-on-one, only to be thwarted by The Town keeper.
This spurred the opposition and some loose play in centre of midfield lead to skipper Reece Grieg being pickpocketed and Deal broke straight through the heart of the midfield to take a lead into the break.
Despite creating chances from Iman and Tom Goulette, the second half was more controlled by Deal, and it was more lack of concentration that led to the home side’s second and final goal bursting through the Margate defence beating ‘Gate’s young keeper Blake Winter.
Overall, there were many positives to take away from the game against a disciplined opponent.
