Tangara: "We can cause an upset"
By Reece Hibbird
Margate Goalkeeper Amadou Tangara says the Blues believe they “can win” at Dulwich Hamlet on Saturday in the Emirates FA Cup.
Tangara has now enjoyed back to back clean sheets between the sticks after Tuesday night’s 4-0 win over Herne Bay, and the ‘keeper believes the ‘Gate can cause a shock on Saturday and get through to the 3rd Qualifying stage of the competition.
“We will go there and play with confidence and no pressure. We know that if we play the way we can then we can win the game and get through”.
Tangara was largely a bystander as Margate overcome Herne Bay on Tuesday night, however the ‘keeper feels that it could have been more.
“The Gaffer gave us a licence to keep going and to try and score more goals in the second half, unfortunately we missed two or three more opportunities so we missed out on adding to the score line”.
After a steady start to the season, Tangara admitted that Drury had asked his players to work “harder and smarter” and that was one of the reasons the Blues produced a stunning display on Tuesday night.
“We are a new and young squad and the Gaffer said we needed to work harder and be smarter with the ball when we have it. On Tuesday night we did that and that is why we looked much better”.
Amadou Tangara is sponsored for the 2022/23 season by Norman Stanley (Home) and Rick Simmons (Away).
