MATCH PREVIEW / Ramsgate (H) - 18th April 2023
Ramsgate (H) - 18th April 2023
By Josh Cole
After all the build-up, it’s finally time for the talking to stop and both teams to do battle at Hartsdown Park in the Kent Senior Cup Semi-Final vs Ramsgate. Both teams will be eyeing up a place in the final which will be held at Priestfield Stadium, home of Gillingham FC on Wednesday 3rd May 2023.
Both sides will be firmly focused on each other, with the winners of the tie facing either Welling United or Chatham Town in the final.
The Blues were beaten by a superior Billericay side on Saturday as we fell to a 3-0 defeat away in Essex with the goals coming from Bradley Stevenson, Toby Stevenson and Alfie Cerulli. Defeat for the ‘Gate confirmed their 17th place in the Isthmian Premier Division with still one game to go.
The Rams drew 1-1 on Saturday against fellow promotion chasing side Whitehawk, however this result meant Chatham won the title, thus condemning Ramsgate to a play-off battle for promotion.
Margate will still be without Phil Roberts for the Semi-Final as well as Taylor Fisher who remains side-lined for this fixture, otherwise there are no other concerns for the Blues.
The last time the two teams faced each other was in pre-season where we did battle for the Isle of Thanet Cup, which saw Ramsgate leave Hartsdown Park 2-1 winners with goals from Harvey Smith (OG), and Jordan Chiedozie, whilst the Blues goal came from James Bessey-Saldanha.
Tickets will be available from the turnstiles on matchday with half price admission, however they are also available on the club shop online by clicking here.
