Triple Signing For The Gate

Margate Football Club are delighted to confirm the signing of midfielder Bradley Stevenson on a month loan from League One side Gillingham FC.

Stevenson made his Gillingham debut in their EFL Trophy tie against Luton Town, in which he replaced Mitchell Dickenson in the 60th minute during the 2–1 defeat.

Following his return from a successful loan stint with Cray Wanderers, Stevenson appeared for Gillingham in an EFL Trophy tie against Reading u21s which finished 7-5 to Gillingham at the end of 90 minutes.

The 20-year-old joins The Gate ahead of tomorrow’s trip to League Leaders Haringey Borough.

The Gate are also pleased to welcome Crystal Palace winger Joseph Hungbo on loan for the rest of the season.

Former captain of The Eagles' under-18 side, Hungbo top-scored for his side with 17 goals to fire Palace to the U18 Professionnal Development League South title in 2017/18. Hungbo was also the winner of the club’s Under 9-16 Player of the Year award in 2015/16.

His performances last season saw Hungbo follow up on a couple of initial development team appearances gained during 2016/17, and he made the step up after signing his first professional deal in the summer of 2018.

Due to a commitment to play in pre-planned tournament in Israel, Joseph will be unavailable for the visit to Lewes and The Gate's encounter at home to Leatherhead. However, the youngster wanted to be a part of the Margate squad before his trip, so will be available for the game against league leaders Haringey.

Hungbo be fully available thereafter for the rest of the campaign.

Finally, a deal has been done with Eastbourne Borough to extend loanee Dave Martin's second stay with the club until the end of the season.
