Collins is a Blue as Trio Join 'Gate
Margate Football Club is delighted to confirm the signing of striker Louis Collins from Sevenoaks Town.
The 20 year-old has been in fine form after netting eleven times so far this season as they battle to avoid the drop in the Isthmian South East Division.
Before Sevenoaks, Collins impressed in the National League for Dover Athletic after netting three goals in three games after joining the “Whites” after his release from Scunthorpe United in 2019.
Manager Jay Saunders says the capture of Collins shows the intent for the remainder of the season.
“Louis is a very good player who I have admired for the last few years. He showed at Dover the talent he has, and then again this season at Sevenoaks where he has performed consistently”.
“I think this signing shows that we want to finish this season as strong as possible, and a signing like this proves our ambition to finish as strong as we can”.
“Sometimes this season we have lacked that goalscoring threat, but Louis will hopefully give us that now for the remaining games of the season”.
Depending on League registration paperwork being accepted within the allowed timeframe, Louis may be included in the Matchday squad for tomorrow’s fixture at home to Haringey Borough.
Margate can also confirm that Goalkeeper Dan Colmer has returned to the club. Colmer has already featured for the ‘Gate this season after playing in the clubs 5-0 demolition of Cray Valley (PM) in the Kent Senior Cup in December.
Also joining the ‘Gate is attacker Afolabi Soyemi-Ololade. The attacking player has most recently featured for Romford in the Isthmian North Division, but has also had spells at Leatherhead and Westfield this season.
Everyone at Margate FC would like to welcome Louis, Dan and Afolabi to Hartsdown Park for the remainder of the 2021/22 season.
