Margate travel to Ascot United for the Second Qualifying Round in the FA Trophy!

HISTORY BECKONS: If we avoid defeat tomorrow against Ascot, it’ll be our best start to the season we’ve had since 1992/93, when we went ten games unbeaten to start that campaign.

OPPONENTS SEASON SO FAR:

Ascot United play in the Isthmian South-Central (step four of non-league) and they sit in 5th on ten points from the opening five games. They started on the 3rd of August in the FA Cup Extra Preliminary Round, and they won 1-0 at home against Milton United. To start their league season, they drew 2-2 away South Park (Reigate). A loss in the second game of the league campaign at home to Kingstonian (0-2) and they were knocked out of the FA Cup in the Preliminary Round away to Virginia Water (2-1) followed. In the FA Trophy preliminary round, they won on penalties away to Ashford Town (Middx). Back to league action and they won two games on the bounce against Binfield (1-3) and Sutton Common Rovers (2-1). In the First Qualifying Round they beat Merstham 5-0. In their last two games they won against the Metropolitan Police (3-0) in the league and beat Sutton Common Rovers 2-1 in the Velocity Cup Second Round.
