Twinkle twinkle, Margate’s Christmas Stars
On Saturday afternoon, a hand-picked group of players from across Margate's amazing youth club were invited to enjoy a special day at Hartsdown Park.
These players were selected by their coaches to celebrate their hard work, commitment and pride in wearing the Margate FC badge throughout the year.
The group got to meet and greet the first team before the game and walk out with the players ahead of kick-off. Additionally, each were presented with a certificate by our Club Chairman Terry Painter and Thanet McDonalds’ Paul Knell.
1. Frank Bodley - Frank was selected as his behaviour and attitude at training has been excellent, likewise Frank's match performances have been fantastic. What has really improved in Frank's game is the way he uses the ball to bring his team mates into the game. He is also a very likable boy who is very popular within the team. Well done Frank, thoroughly deserved!
2. Louie Gilpin - The reason myself and the coaching staff picked this player, was purely because of the fact that he is such an incredible player, His passion and commitment alongside the talent he has makes him an unbelievably talented player. We have only had him for 6 months and can see he will have a very successful future and he is definitely heading in the right direction. So this is a massive thank you to him for his attitude towards us and a massive asset to the team.
3. Charlie Mills - Charlie was picked due to his constant hard work and commitment to the U11s. He is at every training session without fail, he never complains about being played out of position from time to time.
He is a pleasure to have around our team with immaculate manners.
4. Tommy Jaques - Tommy Jaques is oue Under 10s captain. A small boy with the biggest heart on the pitch. Tommy loves his football and enjoys watching all age group throughout Margate. All round lovely lad.
