MATCH PREVIEW / Bowers & Pitsea (H) - 24th January 2023
Bowers & Pitsea (H) - 24th January 2023
Margate welcome Bowers & Pitsea to Hartsdown Park on Tuesday night as they go in search of their first win since November 2022.
The Blues scheduled fixture away at Bognor Regis Town on Saturday was postponed due to a frozen pitch, meaning the ‘Gate have not played a league match since the 4-0 defeat at Horsham. The ‘Gate have collected just one point in 2023 after a thrilling 3-3 draw against Brightlingsea Regent.
Bowers & Pitsea arrive at Hartsdown Park looking to end a run of four straight defeats, the latest a 1-0 defeat away at Carshalton Athletic which leaves Bowers 20th in the division having accumulated 17 points.
Margate have already earned three points against Bowers back in August when a Harvey Smith strike and a Montrell Deslandes last gasp goal gave the Blues a 2-0 win in Essex.
Interim Managers Reece Prestedge and Ben Greenhalgh will be without Billy Knott (hamstring), however have Harry Hudson back to full fitness after suffering another ankle knock at Horsham last week.
This fixture at Hartsdown Park last season saw the ‘Gate come on top in a five goal thriller in April as goals from Benas Vaivada, Ben Greenhalgh and James Bessey-Saldanha secured a 3-2 win.
Kick-off at Hartsdown Park is scheduled for 7:45pm, with turnstiles open from 6L30pm. If you can’t be there, you can stay up to date on the clubs Twitter feed @margate_fc from 7:15pm.
