CLUB NEWS / Walking Football Side Lose League Opener
Margate opened their Kent League campaign last week with a home fixture against Herne Bay. The opposition containing two England internationals took an early lead through Neil Davey but Margate hit back immediately with an Ian Day goal to level the score.
Half way through the first half Herne Bay took the lead again through Neil Brown and the game reached the half way mark at 1-2. That soon became 1-3 with Neil Davey's second before Ian Day got his brace to get Margate back into the game, although from the restart Ian Hamilton extended the Herne Bay lead again. Despite having a player sin binned Margate continued to press but at the final whistle the score was 2-4.
