Covid 19: Statement from the Board of Margate FC
Statement from the Board of Margate FC
With last night’s announcement from the Isthmian League Board of Directors, the football league season is effectively over.
Although this is extremely frustrating for supporters, players and all involved in football we think we can agree there are far more important things happening across the UK and the world that put this into perspective. People's lives will be affected in ways they could never have anticipated and many people will lose loved ones or friends before this is over.
Margate FC will endure, we have been here since 1896 and we’ll be here for the start of the 2020/21 season whenever that may be. To read the league statement for yourself please CLICK HERE.
For the foreseeable future we will be limited in our ability to respond to phones calls, emails and social media due to staffing reductions; to this end we sincerely wish all the staff at Hartsdown Park the best through these troubling times. We are unable to give concrete answers on what pre-season will look like, when the season will start or what the playing squad will be next season, however we will give you information as and when we are able.
To help quench that football thirst we recommend you visit GateTV on YouTube, here you can see all the action from homes games throughout both the 2019/20 and 2018/19 season.
We wish you all the best and we will endeavour to keep you informed on any information relating to the 2020/21 season as soon as we get it. Please look out for family, friends and neighbours during these testing times, we all need to be kind and look after one another, like a football club the best way to move forward is together as a team.
Be safe, keep your distance and wash your hands.
