Margate’s 3-3 away draw at Merstham was enough to secure a playoff spot after other results went in favour of The Blues!
The game started in the worst possible way for The ‘Gate as in the first minute of the match, Korrey Henry, a former Blue, put the hosts one nil up!
And Merstham doubled their lead in the 14th minute, Matt Drage with the goal.
Just before half-time, Ibrahim Olutade scored from the penalty spot to give The ‘Gate a way back into the game!
Olutade got his second, and Margate’s second in the 54th minute to level proceedings and then in the 91st minute, he got his hattrick, and looked to all but seal the three points!
But, in the 10th minute of added time, Aiden Brown scored for Merstham to make the game 3-3.
But, despite the draw, it was elation for The ‘Gate with Beckenham Town losing, it confirmed a playoff spot for Margate!
