Margate FC is proud to unveil a refreshed and clearly defined pathway to the men’s first team—strengthening our long-term commitment to nurturing talent and supporting holistic player development.
The new structure, aligned across Margate Youth FC U18, Margate FC U19, and Margate FC U23, is built to support the growth of not just the footballer, but the whole person. Each stage of the pathway provides top-tier coaching, academic encouragement, and personal development, ensuring our young players are fully prepared for the challenges of senior football.

This renewed focus is about more than just results—it’s about fostering a sustainable, supportive environment where young players can thrive and make a meaningful impact at the senior level.
As part of this vision, we are excited to announce a new partnership with Tyrone Sterling and Capital Pro Academy (CPA) to launch a London-based U19 squad. This collaboration will see CPA’s elite coaching team work with players aged 16 to 19 in a dedicated program, representing Margate FC at the U19 level, and progressing into our U23 and first-team squads.
This partnership expands and strengthens Margate’s talent pipeline while reaffirming our commitment to youth development. Sterling’s wealth of experience and success at senior level makes him an ideal figure to be part of this structure.
Our U23s enjoyed a strong campaign, finishing as Kent Intermediate Cup finalists, and we’re excited to offer more local young players the chance to step into that environment and prepare for senior football. While we grow into London, our foundation remains firmly in Margate. The new U19 setup complements the existing local pathway.
Margate Youth FC U18 remains a vital step in the journey. Too often, players are moved on too quickly; at Margate, we recognise the value of allowing players a crucial year of development at this level. Movement through the pathway will always be driven by what’s right for the player.
