Retained For 2025/26 Season: Ibrahim Olutade

Margate Football Club is delighted to announce that forward Ibrahim Olutade has been retained for the 2025/26 season.

Olutade, who joined The Gate last summer, made an immediate impact with his pace, physical presence, and eye for goal. His performances were a highlight of the 2024/25 campaign as the Blues fell just short of an immediate return to the Isthmian Premier Division.

The prolific striker struck 23 league goals, and a further five in cup competitions to finish with 28 goals in all competitions.

Manager Ben Greenhalgh expressed his delight at keeping his talisman as the Blues look to go one further this time around.

“This time last year we brought Ibz in and the relationship started from there, we’ve demanded a lot out of him and put extra pressure on him in certain games and we’ve definitely got a great side out of him.

“Ibz showed last season what a great striker he is. Scoring 28 goals is very impressive and we are looking forward to seeing how he can not only match this but even better it with the likes of Tom Derry alongside him after a whole pre-season together”.

“We have shown in our early business how many players are committed to the cause and wanting to progress on even more from last season and obviously retaining our top goal scorer after a great season shows our ambitions are only growing as a group.

“I know the fans were desperate for this one to be announced too so that is pleasing that we can announce this today and hopefully it brightens up their start to the week”.
