Margate make the short trip across Kent on Tuesday evening as they take on Whitstable Town in their latest pre-season fixture at the Primcura Healthcare Stadium.
Following Saturday’s encouraging 3-1 victory over Newmarket Town – courtesy of goals from Ibrahim Olutade, Ben Greenhalgh, and Tom Derry – the ‘Gate will be looking to build momentum as they continue their preparations for the 2025/26 campaign. Tuesday’s clash marks Margate’s third friendly of the summer, with the club set to receive their Isthmian South-East Division fixtures on Thursday.
Manager Ben Greenhalgh will have the option to recall Sam Blackman, Kieron Agbebi, and Tom Wray after the trio missed the weekend trip to Suffolk. However, TT Walters remains sidelined, and goalkeeper Reece Hobbs is unlikely to feature after picking up a knock during Saturday’s win.
Hosts Whitstable Town have had a busy pre-season so far, playing four friendlies to date. Wins against a Gillingham XI (4-1), Sheppey United (3-0), and Sheppey Sports (3-1) highlight a strong start for the Oystermen, with their only defeat coming in a narrow 2-1 loss away to Ashford United.
The two sides last met in pre-season action in the summer of 2024, when Margate ran out 3-0 winners at Hartsdown Park thanks to goals from Kai Garande, Ibrahim Olutade, and Lukas Franzen-Jones on a blustery day in Thanet.
