Margate Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of talented young midfielder Blu Husthwaite from Dartford Academy.
19-year old Husthwaite, who can also slot in comfortably in the back line, arrives at Hartsdown Park having just completed a standout season with Dartford Academy, where he was named their inaugural player of the Month last September. His versatility, composure, and work ethic have already made a strong impression during his trial spell with the club this summer.
Margate manager Ben Greenhalgh, who previously coached Husthwaite during his time with the Corinthian U16s, expressed his excitement at being reunited with the player.
“I’ve known Blu for a number of years and always believed in his potential,” said Greenhalgh. “He’s come in this summer and shown maturity beyond his years. He’s been training hard, absorbing everything we’ve asked of him, and he really stood out in today’s game against Dover Athletic”.
Husthwaite featured as a named trialist throughout pre-season, earning praise for his calmness on the ball, tactical intelligence, and willingness to step into different roles when needed.
Welcome to Margate, Blu!
