Margate Football Club is delighted to announce the appointment of Salim Usman to the Board of Directors.
Salim has been a valued member of the Margate FC family since 2009, when he first joined as coach of the Under-8s team. Over the years, he has played a pivotal role in the development of the club’s youth structure, holding several key positions including Head of Development and U23’s Manager.
In his new role as Director of the Youth Section, Salim will oversee the integration of the youth setup into the main club — part of a wider structural development that will be announced in the near future. His appointment ensures that the youth section will have a strong and dedicated voice on the club’s board, helping to guide a smooth and unified transition.
Salim brings with him a wealth of experience, deep knowledge of the club, and a long-standing commitment to youth football. His passion for nurturing young talent and his dedication to Margate FC make him an invaluable addition to the board.
Chairman Ricky Owen welcomed the appointment, saying:
“Salim’s commitment to Margate FC and to youth development over the years has been outstanding. He has played a huge part in shaping our youth setup, and his new role will ensure that the next generation of players continues to thrive. We’re delighted to have him join the board and look forward to working closely as we continue to grow the club.”
