Margate Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of Defender Harry Lawrence from VCD Athletic.
Lawrence, most recently the Vickers Captain as they won promotion to the Isthmian South-East Division last season plays centre-half and right-back, and will look to bolster numbers for the ‘Gate in their back-line.
21 year-old Lawarence played over 120 games for VCD, but also includes Sutton Athletic, Thamesmead (loan) and Erith Town in his previous clubs.
Harry will be available to make his Margate debut this Saturday as we travel to Crowborough Athletic looking to build upon Saturday’s 7-2 home win over Beckenham Town.
Manager Ben Greenhalgh said: “ Harry is someone we have looked at over the last couple of years. Even at such a young age he will add experience to our defence.
“He is somebody that over the past two years at VCD that has enjoyed success with promotion last season. We look forward to welcoming into the squad this week ahead of Crowborough away on Saturday”.
