Margate cross the English Channel this weekend as they face Jersey Bulls in the Isthmian South-East Division with the ‘Gate looking to extend their unbeaten run to ten games.
The squad, and plenty of Blues fans set off on Friday afternoon as a weekend in Jersey awaits, a unique weekend for players and fans alike.
On the pitch, the ‘Gate have enjoyed a superb run of nine games unbeaten which has seen them rise to fifth in the division, and they will be keen to extend that run further this weekend.
They face a difficult task though taking on Jersey on their own patch where they haven’t lost yest this season. The Bulls were promoted to Step 4 when they won promotion last season by winning the play-offs.
Their first game at this level came against Ben Greenhalgh’s side as they shared a 1-1 draw at Hartsdown Park on the opening day of the season in August.
On a scorching hot day in Thanet Sam Blackman rescued a point for the Blues as they fought back from a goal down to share the spoils.
The Bulls are enjoying a promising start to life at step four after remaining unbeaten at home so far since their promotion. Theor form away from home though recently has faltered having lost their previous two games on the road which leaves them sat 12th in the league standings.
Kick-off at The Springfield Stadium is scheduled for 2pm.
