Match Preview: Margate v Eastbourne Town – Isthmian South-East

Margate welcome Eastbourne Town to Hartsdown Park on Saturday as they look to make it three unbeaten after last weekend’s 1-1 draw away at Sevenoaks Town.

Manager Ben Greenhalgh scored a stunner to give the ‘Gate the lead at The Bourne Stadium, however the lead lasted only four minutes as the Blues were held.

Greenhalgh can call upon Captain Harry Hudson again after he served the second of his two match ban last weekend, whilst there are doubts over striker Joe Taylor who was subbed at half-time nursing a shoulder injury.

The Saffron’s travel to Kent on Saturday on a fine run of form that has seen them move up to 15th in the league standings. They are now five games unbeaten, of which they have won three out of those five. On the road Town haven’t won however since their incredible 4-1 away win at Faversham Town on Saturday 8th November.

Earlier in the season a stoppage time stunner from Max Walsh earned the ‘Gate a 2-1 win to keep up their 100% record against Saturday’s opposition. Out of the four meetings so far in history, three in the league and one in the FA Cup, Margate have won all four games, scoring 12 goals in the process.

Ahead of kick-off we ask all supporters to join us for a moments reflection as we will hold a minutes applause to remember the life of former ‘Gate Manager Terry Yorath who passed away earlier this month.
