On Saturday 28 February, the Premier League Trophy will be at Margate FC’s Hartsdown Park for the club’s Isthmian South East Division fixture against Crowborough Athletic.
This is a great opportunity for fans and locals to get a rare, close-up look at the famous trophy and to take photos with it before the match kicks off at 3pm.
Since 2020, Margate FC has accessed £160,000 in grants from the Premier League Stadium Fund to help with upgrades including changing room refurbishment, new male & female match official changing rooms and a retractable player’s tunnel.
Additionally, small-sided pitches at Margate FC reopened last year following an investment of more than £194,000 from the Football Foundation, which is co-funded by the Premier League, The FA and the UK government.
Four 5-a-side pitches have been resurfaced, with a newly-created 7-a-side pitch, providing local players and the community with high-quality pitches to enjoy and generating revenue for Margate FC.
Now celebrating its 25th anniversary year, the Premier League Stadium Fund has supplied more than £219 million, since 2000, to upgrade infrastructure at over 1,000 men’s and women’s clubs throughout the English Football League, National League and football pyramid.
