Match Preview: Margate v Crowborough Athletic – Isthmian South-East

Margate welcome Crowborough Athletic to Hartsdown Park on Saturday afternoon needing to bounce back from a derby day defeat to Deal Town last time out.

Margate enjoyed an enforced break last Saturday as their Isthmian South-East Division fixture away at Beckenham Town was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch, that game will now take place on Tuesday 24th March at 7:45pm.

Home form lately has been woeful for the Blues who have just one win in their last six games at Hartsdown Park, a 2-0 win against Sheppey United at the start of February.

Saturday’s visitors have just win in their last five games, a 3-1 win over basement side East Grinstead. Athletic have lost their last three games in all competitions, however the two league losses were against high flyers Sittingbourne and Three Bridges.

This will be just the second meeting in history, the first a 2-2 draw at Crowborough in November when a double from Ben Greenhalgh rescued a point for the Blues on the road.

With Max Walsh and Yaser Kasim both departing ahead of the postponed fixture last weekend, opportunities could see Henry Young return to the starting XI, whilst Brandon Davey continued his recovery by featuring in a behind closed doors friendly against Sutton Athletic last weekend.

Gates open at 12:15pm with the Hartsdown Bar open showing the Premier League fixture between Bournemouth and Sunderland, whilst the Premier League Trophy will be in attendance for supporters to have photos with.

Supporters in the Loyalty Scheme can claim double points on all purchases of Moretti.
