Match Preview: Beckenham Town v Margate – Isthmian South-East

Margate travel to Beckenham Town on Tuesday night as they look to continue their momentum after winning three games on the bounce.

Saturday’s 2-0 win over league leaders Three Bridges saw the Blues close the gap to the play-off places to nine points, albeit the ‘Gate have a game in hand on their fellow rivals for a top five finish.

Tuesday night’s hosts are fighting for their safety in the Isthmian South-East Division after a torrid start to their campaign. They are currently two games unbeaten after beating Herne Bay 3-1 and drawing with Ashford United 1-1 at the weekend, however they remain seven points from safety, however like the Blues at the other end, this will be their game in hand on their relegation rivals.

The Blues have a 100% record to maintain against Beckenham having won all three of the previous meetings. Earlier in the season at Hartsdown Park, Kane Haysman stole the show by scoring four in a 7-2 demolition by the ‘Gate.

Margate’s last trip to Beckenham came in September 2024 when a Harvey Brand double secured all three points in a routine win.

There is no new injury worries for the Blues and Manager Ben Greenhalgh will have a call to make on whether to return Haysman to the starting line-up in place of Henry Young who was superb throughout Saturday’s 2-0 win over the league leaders.

Winning four in a row would equal Margate’s best run this season so far after they won four in a row in November 2025. An away game will also excite the Blues faithful as they have seen just one defeat away from home in the previous 12 away games.

Kick-off at Eden Park on Tuesday evening is scheduled for 7:45pm. Margate will be wearing their away kit for this fixture.
