Margate return to Emirates FA Cup action this Saturday as we face Snodland Town in the 1st Qualifying Round.
Snodland currently play their football in the SCEFL Premier Division and have enjoyed a positive start to the campaign.
As well as sitting second in their division, they have won two FA Cup fixtures so far. A 1-0 win away at Faversham Strike Force in the Extra-Preliminary Round was followed up with an impressive 3-1 away win at Harrow Borough in the Preliminary Round.
Margate come into the game unbeaten in the Isthmian South-East Division with ten points from four games. Whilst we exited the FA Trophy at Ascot United, we have won one game so far in the FA Cup, a 4-1 hammering of Peacehaven & Telscombe in the Preliminary Round.
Saturday’s game will be the first competitive fixture between the two sides.
Snodland Town are managed by former Margate Midfielder Connor Dymond.
We hope to welcome back midfielder Olu into the squad as he continues to recover from injury, whilst Johan Caney-Bryan is likely to feature after spending time playing for Bearsted over the Bank Holiday Weekend on dual registration.
Defender Jake McIntyre continued his recovery with a very brief sub appearance in our 3-0 win away at Whitstable Town on Monday, however Lewis Chambers remains unable to feature as he continues to recover from a groin injury.
