Margate welcome fellow Isthmian South-East side Whitstable Town to Hartsdown Park on Tuesday evening as they begin their GoCardless Kent Senior Cup campaign.
These two met just over a week ago at The YMS Stadium in a highly anticipated league match which was the two sides first competitive meeting since 2006.
Margate ran out 3-0 winners in front of a bumper crowd of 1,873 thanks to goals from Ronald Sithole, Connor Wilkins and Javaun Splatt.
Both sides will be looking to put a disappointing weekend behind them after exiting the Emirates FA Cup. The ‘Gate were left stunned by a 3-1 home defeat to Snodland Town, whilst Whitstable suffered a 4-1 defeat away at Hanworh Villa.
Manager Jamie Coyle hinted on Saturday after his sides defeat that Margate fans can expect to see a rotated side take to the field, with those that have been away on dual registration expected to be involved in the squad.
In that case, Margate fans can expect to see Ralfi Hand, Jack Peters, Tyler Hatton and Johan Caney-Bryan all get minutes on Tuesday evening.
The game could also see Olu Oluwatimilehin and Jake McIntyre get more minutes in the tank as they continue to return after injuries that have curtailed their start to the season.
Remarkably, this will be the first meeting between these two sides in this competition since 1929, Margate won on that occasion.
A reminder to all supporters that more than half-price football is back for this competition with adults tickets just £5, Concessions £3 and U18’s FREE.
Tickets can be purchased on the gates which open at 6:30pm or in advance by clicking here.
