Margate welcome Sheppey United to Hartsdown Park this evening looking to bounce back from Saturday’s nightmare at home to Merstham.
The Blues lost for the first time in five games in all competitions on a woeful afternoon at Hartsdown Park as The Moatsiders ran out 5-0 winners, inflicting the heaviest home defeat on the Blues since a 6-1 home loss to Bognor Regis in 2019.
Manager Jamie Coyle has some more injuries to contend with as Mikey Dalton is out of the game after picking up an injury on Saturday. Olu Oluwatimilehin and Lewis Chambers are still missing and Hassan Nalbant will need a fitness test ahead of tonight’s game.
One positive will be the return of Connor Wilkins who is fit and ready to go again after missing the Blues last two games.
Sheppey United arrive at Hartsdown Park having pulled themselves away from the early season drop zone with a 2-1 away win at Steyning Town on Saturday.
Former Margate striker Oghosa Williams is likely to feature for the Ites having made a positive start to his Sheppey career.
Games between these two sides are usually tight affairs. Margate have already beaten tonight’s opposition with a 1-0 away win at Holm Park at the start of the season.
The last game at Hartsdown Park came in February when the Blues ran out 2-0 winners.
Kick-off is scheduled for 7:45pm.
