Match Preview: Crowborough Athletic v Margate – Isthmian South-East Division

Margate travel to The Charles Century Community Stadium on Saturday as they face Crowborough Athletic in their latest Isthmian South-East Division fixture.

A 2-1 comeback win over Sheppey United on Tuesday evening means the Blues go into this fixture sat 6th and inside the divisions play-off places.

Crowborough enjoyed an historic Emirates FA Cup run this season reaching the 3rd Qualifying Round, eventually losing 2-1 at home to Wimbourne Town.

Current Blues striker Elliott Duncan scored 8 of the goals in that historic run before joining the ‘Gate at the start of October.

Crowborough come into the game off the back of a 3-0 win away at Steyning Town on Tuesday which lifted them off the foot of the table, however they still sit inside the relegation zone having taken ten points from their opening ten games.

Margate will be without the suspended Finn O’Mara and David Adewoju.

Fixtures between these two sides have been notoriously difficult for the ‘Gate. The Blues won their fixture at the start of the season 2-1 thanks to goals from Connor Wilkins and O’Mara, however last season the ‘Gate earned just one point from a possible six after a 2-2 draw away from home and a 3-1 home defeat in February.

Kick-off is scheduled for 3pm with the ‘Gate playing in their away strip.
