Greenhalgh Commits To 2022/23 Season
Margate Football Club is delighted to confirm that it has secured the services of Ben Greenhalgh for the 2022/23 season.
Greenhalgh joined the Blues in April 2021 ahead of the 2021/22 season, to link up with Manager Jay Saunders, after the pair worked together during a successful time at Maidstone United.
29-year-old Greenhalgh has scored 17 goals in all competitions so far this season, and follows on from the news that Sam Blackman has also committed to the club ahead of next season.
Greenhalgh has enjoyed an illustrious career to date, which includes a Champions League medal from his time at Italian giants Inter Milan. Back in England, the attacker has enjoyed huge success with Maidstone United under current Blues Manager Jay Saunders, Tonbridge Angels and Concord Rangers.
Saunders was delighted to secure the experienced player/coach to his squad for next season.
“We have seen what Ben can do this season both on and off the pitch. On the field he can create chances and score goals, off the field he is a great character to have in the changing room and leads by example”.
“I am thrilled that Ben has agreed to stay next season, especially after the news of Sam this week. We are building our squad early which helps with planning over the summer”.
Chairman Ricky Owen added; “Ben has proven to be a fans favourite and I am pleased that we have secured his services for the 2022/23 season”.
Ben Greenhalgh is sponsored this season by Kevin Southall (Home) and Sarah Egan (Away).
