Blues Go Four Unbeaten in Dominant Display

Jeremiah Pinder’s first goal in Margate Blue and a Ben Greenhalgh brace fired The ‘Gate to an emphatic 3-1 win over Kingstonian at the Imperial Fields stadium.

Pinder opened the scoring in electric fashion, showing a burst of pace to beat his nearest defender in the box on the outside and firing the ball into the top corner of Daniel Domenech’s net at the near post.

A crucial goal before half-time would give the ‘Gate a deserved two goal cushion with Pinder at the heart of it again. 

Steve Cawley nodded the ball to Pinder after a searching, long ball and Greenhalgh swept the ball into the bottom corner from the centre of the box after receiving a short pass from Pinder. 

Margate would then seal the deal after Destiny Oladipo was brought down in the box earning us a penalty. 

Greenhalgh buried the ball into the bottom corner ensuring a massive three points on the road. 

An important goal too with the Homeside pulling a goal back early in the second-half. 

Nasim Regragui wriggled his way between Toby Stevenson and Lewis Knight to slot past an onrushing Harry Seaden after a deep ball from defence evaded all those in Margate Blue to put the score at 2-1. 

A win never really looked in doubt for the ‘Gate however after a dominant performance. 

“Throughout the season, that’s been the most chances we’ve created in any game”, said Sam Blackman. 

Despite such a dominant performance, Margate did need to weather the storm at times. 

Creating chances is brilliant but not converting them meant the door would always remain open for the Homeside who had their spells in the match. 

The boys dug deep however to keep Kingstonian at bay with Lewis Knight and Teddy Perkins producing chiselled performance’s at centre-back.

The win leaves The ‘Gate on their best run since going three unbeaten in November and our most points gained from four consecutive matches. 

Four unbeaten, eight points gained. 

With another four to go, the stage is set for a massive end to the season for Margate as we continue to fight to remain in the division. 

“Only job we had today was to get three-points, you cant look at other results and let it dampen your mood.

“We’ve got four cup finals, we want to get as many points as possible.”
