INTERVIEW / Seaden: "Currently Below Standards"
Seaden: "Currently Below Standards"
By Dylan Smith
Margate have now lost four on the bounce, following a narrow 1-0 loss to Harrow Borough in the FA Trophy on Saturday afternoon.
Goalkeeper Harry Seaden believes the ‘Gate have “dropped below standards” in recent weeks.
“Disappointing for the boys really, to be honest with you. That’s now four on the bounce which is not the standards we set. I feel sorry for the manager and coaching staff, because it isn’t on them, so we have got to step up and perform.”
Seaden believes that we need to be more potent in the final third.
“Just the fine details, we’ve got to score goals. It’s not just solely down to the strikers, the whole team have got to score more. We could have been 3 – 0 up at half-time, and that’s the benchmark we have set.”
Seaden still has trust in the positive atmosphere of the group, despite the setbacks in recent weeks.
“It’s a good group, Prezza can say it’s a good group. But we are not performing on the pitch for the last four games. The benchmark was the Folkestone game where we played well, we have got to perform now and start scoring goals.”
Margate return to action on Tuesday 17th October 2023 when they welcome Chatham Town to Hartsdown Park for an Isthmian Premier Division fixture.
Kick-off is scheduled for 7:45pm.
Harry Seaden is sponsored by Lukas Jones at Home and Paul Newsome Away.
