The club can confirm that striker Dan Thompson has left the club by mutual consent.
Thompson wants regular first team starts, which is not guaranteed with the Gate as things currently stand.
Manager, Jay Saunders, had this to say: “I’d like to thank Tommo for all of his efforts, and not just on the pitch but off of it. He has also scored some important goals for us. He has been a pleasure to have in my changing room and will be missed as he is a great person.
I fully respect that he wants to play regular football and at the minute I fell that James Bessey warranted his place in the side.
I’m sure the Margate faithful would like to join me in wishing Dan all the best in his next venture”.
