Margate Football Club is delighted to announce that former defender Tyrone Sterling has officially joined the club’s coaching staff ahead of the 2025/26 season.
Tyrone, who announced his retirement from playing at the end of last season, now returns to Hartsdown Park in a new capacity, bringing his vast experience and leadership qualities to Ben Greenhalgh’s backroom team.
A familiar and respected figure at the club, Sterling enjoyed a distinguished playing career spanning nearly two decades, including spells with Margate, Cray Wanderers, Dover Athletic and Bromley. Known for his composure, tactical understanding, and professionalism both on and off the pitch, Tyrone now transitions into a coaching role where he will play a key part in supporting the squad’s development throughout the upcoming campaign.
Margate FC would like to warmly welcome Tyrone back and wish him all the best as he embarks on this exciting new role for the 2025/26 season.
