Margate Women v Tunbridge Wells Foresters – SECWFL Kent Premier Division

By David Hansen

Margate Women begin November with a Southern East Counties Women’s Football League clash against Tunbridge Wells Foresters at Hartsdown Park, looking to build on last week’s thrilling 4–3 victory over Long Lane and secure another three points.

Tunbridge Wells Foresters arrive at Hartsdown Park aiming to bounce back after three consecutive league defeats to Cray Wanderers, Maidstone United and Holland & Blair conceding 17 goals across those matches.

That run followed an excellent start to their league campaign, with three straight wins over Glebe, Long Lane and Kings Hill, scoring 15 goals in the process.

Margate were involved in a dramatic encounter at Kidbrooke Playing Fields last weekend, where George Adams’ side battled to a 4–3 win thanks to a brace from Nicole Adams and another goal from top scorer Emily Hall.

The two sides met three times last season, each recording a 5–2 away win in the league, before Tunbridge Wells Foresters edged out Margate on penalties in the SECWFL League Cup Quarter-Final.

Team News

There’s positive news on the injury front for George Adams, who can welcome back Isabel Murphy, Shannon King, Kelsey Knell and captain Rebecca Niblett, all of whom missed the Long Lane fixture. However, Margate will once again be without Michaela Beach, who remains sidelined through injury.

Kick-off at Hartsdown Park is 4:30pm with entrance just £3 for adults and ££1 concessions, all U18’s and season ticket holders get free entry.
