Margate welcome play-off chasing Merstham to Hartsdown Park on Saturday for the final game of 2025 at home.
The ‘Gate will be desperate to put the last two weeks behind them having suffered back to back 3-0 defeats away at Three Bridges and at home to Hastings United. Prior to that, Ben Greenhalgh’s side had dragged themselves into the play-off race having gone ten games unbeaten, however they now sit 7th, six points behind the top five, and three points behind Saturday’s opposition who sit 6th.
The visitors have won their last three league fixtures to catapult themselves into the play-off picture. Last weekend saw the Moatsiders beat Broadbridge Heath 2-1 to move above the ‘Gate in the table, with former Blues striker Korrey Henry on the scoresheet.
Remarkably, the last four games between these two sides have ended level, including the 1-1 draw in the reverse fixture in August when a Harry Hudson header rescued a point for the ‘Gate. Prior to that, Margate had won the two previous games meaning they are unbeaten in six against Saturday’s visitors.
Tom Wray will be available for selection after serving his one game suspension, however Sam Blackman continues his suspension after receiving a red card away at Three Bridges two weeks ago.
Kick-off at Hartsdown Park is 3pm, however gates open at 12:15pm as the Hartsdown Bar will be showing the live Premier League fixture between Newcastle and Chelse on the big screens from 12:30pm.
