Margate make the trip to Sevenoaks on Saturday afternoon looking to build on last weekend’s 3-1 away win at Hassocks, and keep the pressure on those above them in the Isthmian South-East Division.
Manager Ben Greenhalgh has strengthened his squad further with the signings of promising goalkeeper James Batt, and former Midfielder Yaser Kasim. Greenhalgh was also able to add Ronnie Vint to the squad for the remainder of the 2025/26 season.
It is a timely boost for the boss as Goalkeeper Tom Wray continues to struggle with an ongoing injury, whilst Captain Harry Hudson will serve the second of a two game suspension.
Sevenoaks Town are a team in form and will provide the ‘Gate with a tough test for sure. Saturday’s hosts have won five in a row and sit 13th in the standings, just seven point behind the ‘Gate.
Last weekend saw the ‘Oaks’ win 1-0 away at Herne Bay to extend their fine form. The return match of this fixture at Hartsdown Park in September saw an enthralling game, with Greenhalgh smashing home a 93rd minute winner in a 4-3 classic at HDP.
Games between these two sides seem to be thrillers. Last season at The Bourne Stadium in April, the two sides shared a 3-3 draw with Greenhalgh, Ibrahim Olutade and Harvey Brand scoring the ‘Gate goals.
